How ShopCursor ranks, and why commission cannot move it
ShopCursor is funded by affiliate commission on some of the links it shows. That creates an obvious question — does the money change the answer? — and the honest reply is a description of how the ranking actually works, not a promise.
Suitability first, price second, commission never
Products are ordered by how well they fit what you typed and what you own. A part we can show fits outranks a cheaper part we cannot, at any price. Within the same level of fit, the lower delivered cost wins. The code that does the ordering has no access to commission rates, so it cannot be influenced by them even by accident.
“Buy nothing” is a permitted answer
When nothing meets the bar — nothing in stock, nothing we can show fits, nothing whose units are stated — the result is an empty shelf with the reason for each exclusion. We do not pad it to have something to link to.
What we do not show, and why
We do not display a price, a star rating or a review count we are not authorised to display. Those figures belong to the retailers that collect them. Where we are authorised to show live data it comes from that source; otherwise it does not appear, and the page says so.
Every link that can earn us money is marked
Links that may earn a commission are marked in the page source and the affiliate disclosure is linked from every page that carries one. Following a link costs you nothing extra.
Ask us to show our work
Every recommendation carries the evidence behind it: what was decoded, what the seller stated, what was ruled out and why. If a result looks wrong, the evidence is where to look — and where to tell us at hello@shopcursor.com.
